At the Center you can start getting your life back.
The indescribable pain and pressure, that until this
moment, has brought your dreams and aspirations to
a halt, can be overcome.

What Is Fascia and Do I Have It?

Yes, you do! We all do.

It is the sliding system that makes our bodies move so freely.

In a normal healthy state, fascia is hydrated and pliable, with the ability to glide and stretch freely. Through injury, trauma, surgery, overuse and postural compensations, fascia loses its natural
form and becomes hardened, tough, twisted, similar if you will to a piece of leather. Prolonged stress, tension and emotional
upset can also contribute to fasical restrictions.

Myo means muscle. Fascia is the soft tissue component of the connective tissue system. The connective tissue is composed of collagen, elastin and a polysaccharide gel complex called ground substance. Collagen means glue-producer.

Together, myofascia, relates to the unified environment of connective tissue and the neuromuscular system.

Fascia is a seamless three-dimensional web that extends all the way through the body, from head to toe, without interruption. Fascia can be broken down into three divisions: superficial fascia which lies directly below the dermis, deep fascia which covers, weaves through, infiltrates and fuses with muscle, bone, nerves, arteries, veins, blood vessels, as well as surrounds all internal organs; heart, lungs, intestines, etc. down to the cellular level. At the deepest level fascia tissue also surrounds the central nervous system, the dura mater, within the cranium, brain and spinal cord.

One uninterrupted system responsible for maintaining structural integrity; providing support and protection; and acting as a
shock absorber.

Thank you for considering The Center For Therapeutic Bodywork, LLC as a choice on your journey to feeling better, feeling alive, feeling pain free, getting your life back.
